Hey everyone ! It’s been a while since the last news so today is time to get you up to date !

First, I want to talk about Pre-Alpha 1.3.0 and Pre-Alpha 2.0.0. This month I worked on multiple features like food, backpack, sleeping, etc. But you will certainly agree with me that these aren’t good features for an Horde Game Mode. That’s why the Pre-Alpha 1.3.0 will have a lot less about what’s was really planned and what I worked on. However, you will have anyway some new features. This version should be available in a few days, more info to come soon.

Now, Pre-Alpha 2.0.0. This version will bring a new area to the map, and especially the new Survival Game Mode (you understand now where the unreleased features will go ? ;) ). This version was originally planned for end of june, but the work to do here is enormous and that’s why I want to take my time and release it between July and August. During this period of development up to the Pre-Alpha 2.0.0, you won’t have a lot of updates, just some patches to fix the most annoying bugs and problems

As it was a request from multiple peoples, these past weeks I also started to setup a discord server.

The purpose of this server is to get feedbacks more easily and on a centralised place, but also, if you want to speak with other peoples or talk easily with me on a tons of subject, you can do it here !

You may have heard the news, Epic Games just released an Early Access for its new game engine, Unreal Engine 5 !

I was waiting this with a lot of excitement and finally I could test it a couple of hours and I already see the potential of the multiple new technologies in this engine for Project Apocalypse.

That’s why I can already announce that Projet Apocalypse will switch over Unreal Engine 5 as soon as the first production-ready version will be available on Early 2022. If porting a project from Unreal Engine 4 and 5 is easy, there is still a decent amount of work to make it work well and take profit of the new technologies. That’s why during this transition period you won’t have any new versions but I will talk again about this when it will happen !
