Development news on Project Apocalypse Pre-Alpha 1.41.0


Hey everyone !

A little bit more than a month after the previous update, the next update is now almost ready and will be released sometime sometimes between October 6 and 10 ! Pre-Alpha 1.41.0 is an update focused on bugfixing but is also a Sound and Ambience Update.

Let’s start with the ambience changes. I this update I added artificial lights and some particles, which, in night time especially, will enhance the ambience of the game as you can see on these screenshots:

This update also bring multiple new sounds and reworks to the audio of the game, here is a small list of the changes in this regards:

  • The big part of this Sound Update is the addition of new ambient sounds: Showcase Video
  • New effects sounds: When you pickup an item for example
  • Fix of multiple sound bugs
  • Global rebalance of multiple sounds (footsteps, musics, etc)
  • Optimisations to the weight of the sounds

Finally, a change to the vehicles to add more details across the map, I worked on adding a lot more complexity and diversity to the vehicles with the addition of “sets of details” which consist in some garbages, items, etc: (this is just a small preview, more are actually in the game)

This update don’t add any new significant piece of content and is, has you can see, focused on the global ambience of the game and also includes a lot of bug fixes !
