Project Apocalypse Becomes Dead Alone !


Hey everyone !

Last year at the same date I released the very first version of Project Apocalypse and what a journey it has been since then !

During this last year, there are been 7 new major updates - each with a bunch of features, improvements, and bugfixes.

And before diving into the future of Project Apocalypse I want to adress a special thank to all of you: Pre-Alpha was an early development stage in which your feedbacks have been crucial to improve a lot of aspects of the game, and for this, I’m very grateful to everyone who took the time to play and comment about the game on Gamejolt, Itch io and more recently Discord.

So what’s next ?

First of all, as stated in the title, Project Apocalypse officially becomes Dead Alone !

Project Apocalypse was only a placeholder name and with the Alpha around the corner, the game obviously need a more definitive identity. And with this obviously come a new logo ! With this also comes a fresh update to the Gamejolt and Itchio Game’s page !

I also took the time to polish the in-game Main Menu: showcase video

What about the next update then ?

My initial plan was to release a very big Pre-Alpha 1.50.0 version and then a small Alpha 1.0.0 version which would only bring the lasts bits of missing features as well as this rebrand for the game.

And so as stated in recent posts the next versions was about to be the Pre-Alpha 1.50.0 but as the update get bigger and bigger I feel like it would be a very good way to move directly into Alpha. So as you can imagine the Pre-Alpha 1.50.0 is “cancelled”. Instead I will merge all the stuff planned for these two updates and only bring one very big update (the biggest one to date). I still can’t give any specific date for this update but I feel like it should be ready around Late April/Early May !

However, i won’t let you go without taking a look at some of the stuff included in this update ! Just for a quick reminder, this update will bring a complete rework of the Horde Gamemode, a brand new looting system, changes to the map with a small new area and much much more including also a bunch of fixes and changes !

Another thing on which I worked on these past weeks is the Pickup system: The outline now reflect the rarity of the outlined item and there is as well a new UI that show over the item. As you can see on the following video there is also a new Alternative Interaction on weapons allowing to quickly equip a weapon without going into the Workbench !

As always, there is a lot more going on behind with fixes and changes on a lot of stuff and i’m very exited for when this update come out !
